Today was a real test.
Today, my trainee took the reins with our new hires and interviewees. It gave her a chance to see how to do both jobs in one day, as I do very often.
While she was doing the hiring today, I did little projects around the office, including getting ready for a district meeting this weekend.
During her orientation, I sat in to watch her work. Our district manager walked in and whispered to me, "She's really good." I agreed.
There are some areas to tweak as I asked her how she thought everything went today. Of course, I started off telling her the good comments the district manager said. Everyone deserves to hear something good about themselves.
She's getting better with her confidence. I didn't even go in for her interviews. I have enough confidence in her to trust she knows what kind of people she wants.
I left her in the office to finish off her payroll so I could take care of some family needs.
If and when I leave, the company will have a fully, trained recruiter and hiring manager.
It was a good day, as pretty much everything went according to plan.
I'm ready for a new opportunity. I think when you can completely train someone to take your place, you are good to go if you so desire.
