Fridays, unless we are majorly hiring, is usually the day we catch up on things.
Friday was a day of calling and making sure I had work to do the following week. My trainee had to leave early for something or rather, so it left me to make sure that things happened.
Our boss was in the office as it was also equipment inventory. My trainee decided to do a clean up of the office. I did the same thing when I started.
We had made a couple of call backs for people to come back to the office for a second chance at work. Only one person came back, which is nice to see her enthusiasm for the work.
The office was bustling. It was nice to see all the managers come by for the day. Usually, the office is very quiet, with only my trainee and myself, other than the hires or trainees.
My trainee learned how to do equipment inventory. She also learned how to complete the recruiting process.
Next thing to learn is to finish the hiring/onboarding process.
This weekend, I spend the whole day in class on Saturday, learning how to better my odds in finding a company to fit my needs.
I do a lot of researching to better my chances and still, I had a lot to learn. I had so many questions. The other thing I learn is how to be a better hiring manager-what to look for, what to ask, etc.
It was a very full day. Tons of information. I used my very special 'secret weapon' to keep track of notes. One day, I'll share with you all.
The last time I shared my secret weapon with a perspective employer, they took my idea but didn't take me.
My secret weapon is available online, so it is not really secret, per se.
I think it's a cool gadget. I am a gadget girl.
